As July 2013 falls at the conclusion of the sesquicentennial of the battle of Gettysburg, the SMSO is collaborating with area historians and actors to celebrate Independence Day in a special way. Using readings of historic documents and letters along with appropriate music, we will seek to bring to life the characters, passions and issues that came to the surface in this epic conflict.  The concert concludes with Tchaikovsky’s festive 1812 Overture to the most spectacular view of the fireworks anywhere!

We greatly appreciate the Pokagon Fund for making the New Buffalo concert on July 3 free to the public.
