The SMSO is performing two nights of their annual Independence Day concert this year. Stretch out on a blanket, bring your lawn chair or gather around a picnic table to enjoy a perfect patriotic summer evening!

The Southwest Michigan Symphony, along with Marcus Robinson and The Big Idea will liven things up and will showcase the soulful riffs of Marcus on guitar, the sweet sultry voice of Benton Harbor native Niki Haris, and the hot, soaring tones of Herb Smith on trumpet. Doug LaBrecque is a tenor with a clarity of voice that is easy on the ear. LaBrecque is a favorite with audiences of symphonic concerts across the country. He has thrilled theatre audiences as The Phantom and Raoul in the Harold Prince production of The Phantom of the Opera. In addition, LaBrecque has starred on Broadway in Showboat, Oscar Hammerstein’s 100th Birthday Celebration and Les Miserables.
